Now Enrolling for September
Bear, DE

Bear, DE families: a Newark daycare worth the short drive.

If you live near Fox Run, Brennen Estates, or Glasgow Pines and work near Newark or Wilmington, our spot at 292 W Main is on your way - about 15 minutes up Rte 7 or 896.

For Bear families

The Bear-to-Newark commute, planned around drop-off

Most of the daycares closer to Bear sit along Rte 40 in larger buildings. We’re a smaller, locally owned option in downtown Newark. We use the Brightwheel Experience Curriculum, and our outdoor time is on actual grass under old oak trees.

From Brennen Estates, Fox Run, Pencader, or Glasgow, take Rte 7 or 896 north toward downtown Newark. That lands you at our door in 12 to 18 minutes from most Bear neighborhoods. It works especially well if you commute to the UD campus, Christiana Hospital, or somewhere off I-95 in Wilmington.

We have five classrooms (12 weeks through pre-K) and our license caps us at 80 kids. We’re open 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

From Bear neighborhoods

  • Brennen Estates / Fox Run: ~14 min via Pulaski Hwy & 896 N.
  • Glasgow Pines / Caravel Farms: ~12 min via 896 N.
  • Sparrow Run / Becks Pond: ~16 min via Rte 7 & 273.
  • Caravel / Red Lion: easy reverse-commute to Newark.
  • Christiana Hospital staff: ~10 min via 273 W.

Bear families: tell us your child’s birthday, the neighborhood you call home (Brennen Estates, Fox Run, Glasgow Pines), and whether your morning runs north on Rte 7 or 896. We’ll send the rate sheet, your room availability for fall, and a tour slot that fits the Bear-to-Newark commute.
