Getting ready for kindergarten

The 4s Room uses the Brightwheel Experience Curriculum pre-K track. Kids work on getting ready to read, matching letters to sounds, writing, and numbers up to 20. Just as important, they practice taking turns, following directions, and speaking up, which makes the first weeks of kindergarten a lot easier.

Our pre-K class walks to local parks like George Read and Phillips Park, and they join our community events out on the lawn.

By graduation you’ll have a portfolio of your child’s work to take to kindergarten registration, whether that’s Newark Charter, Christina, Red Clay, Colonial, or a Cecil County school.

We’re a small, family-run school. Every teacher in the building knows your child’s name. If you ever have a concern, Savanna owns the school and she’ll take care of it ASAP.

  • Lunch and rest. Lunch from home, then a quiet rest.
  • Afternoon. Snack, portfolio projects, and outside before pickup.
