Discounts and assistance to make great child care reachable.

Three ways Newark Nature School helps families afford the program: a 10% community partner discount for seven local employers and organizations, the State of Delaware’s Purchase of Care subsidy, and a sibling discount when you have more than one child with us. Mention any that apply on the Email Us form and we’ll factor them into the rate sheet we send back.

Tuition discounts and assistance programs

Families who work at one of our neighbor employers, or who belong to one of our community partner organizations, get 10% off weekly tuition. Seven groups qualify so far: UD, ChristianaCare, W.L. Gore, JP Morgan, Bloom Energy, First Presbyterian Church of Newark, and the Newark Country Club.

We verify with a work email, pay stub, or membership confirmation. Mention it on the Email Us form and we’ll factor it into your rate sheet.

State subsidy

Purchase of Care (POC)

Purchase of Care is the State of Delaware’s child-care subsidy, administered by the Department of Health & Social Services (DHSS) Division of Social Services. It helps income-eligible working families - or families in school, training, or job search - pay for licensed child care.

Families pay a small income-based co-payment, and DHSS pays the rest of the weekly rate directly to the provider. Eligibility, co-pay tiers, and the application live on the DHSS Child Care Subsidy page .

Newark Nature School welcomes POC families. Tell us when you reach out and we’ll walk you through the steps to enroll your child here under the program.

10% off the second child

Sibling Discount

Have more than one little one with us at the same time? The second (and any additional) child enrolled receives 10% off weekly tuition for their program for as long as siblings overlap.

We apply the discount to the youngest child’s invoice. The sibling discount stacks with any community partner discount, up to a combined cap of 20% off weekly tuition.

Qualifying employers and organizations

These seven groups qualify for the 10% weekly tuition discount. If your employer or organization isn’t listed, send us a note anyway. We add partners as Newark families ask.

University of Delaware

Faculty, staff, and grad students on payroll. Open to ATU, ag-extension, hospital staff, and other UD units.

Verify with: a @udel.edu email or current pay stub.

ChristianaCare

Hospital, STAR Campus, and administrative staff working anywhere in the ChristianaCare system.

Verify with: a ChristianaCare badge or employer email.

W.L. Gore & Associates

All Gore associates across the Newark, Elk Mills, Cherry Hill, and Bracebridge campuses.

Verify with: an employer email or pay stub.

JP Morgan Chase

Employees at the JP Morgan Delaware operations and technology centers.

Bloom Energy

The Bloom Energy team at the STAR Campus fuel-cell facility in Newark.

First Presbyterian Church of Newark

Active members of FPC, our neighbor on Main Street.

How discounts work

Discounts apply to the weekly tuition rate, not to one-time fees (registration, supplies, summer enrichment).
The community partner discount (UD, ChristianaCare, Gore, JP Morgan, Bloom Energy, First Presbyterian, Newark Country Club) and the sibling discount can stack, capped at 20% off weekly tuition per child.
Purchase of Care (POC) is a state subsidy, not a school discount - it works alongside our regular rate, with DHSS covering the portion above your assigned co-pay. POC families are not separately charged any “balance” above the rate published in the DHSS reimbursement schedule.
We verify community partner and sibling eligibility once at enrollment. POC eligibility is renewed by DHSS on their schedule.
Discounts and POC apply for as long as you remain eligible - we don’t front-load them or sunset them at year-end.
