Who we are

Newark Nature School (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a locally owned daycare and pre-K at 292 W Main St, Newark, DE 19711. This policy covers newarknatureschool.org, our phone line (302) 461-7474, and text messages sent to or from that number.

Information we collect

Information you give us

• Join the Waitlist form: your name, relationship to the child, email, phone, and the best days and time to call; your child’s name, birthday, gender, allergies, doctor’s name and phone, desired start date, and sibling information.
• Email Us form: your name, email, phone, your child’s first name and birthday, the program and start date you’re interested in, whether you work at the University of Delaware, and any message you write.
• Job applications: your name, email, phone, the position, your message, and your resume.
• Employer suggestions: the organization name, your name and email, and your note.
• Calls, voicemails, and text messages: your phone number, the content of your messages and voicemails, and when they were sent.
• In person and through Brightwheel: once you enroll, the information our enrollment paperwork and Delaware child care licensing rules require.

Information collected automatically

• When you submit a form, we record your IP address, browser type, and the page you were on, to help us stop spam.
• Our website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads, which use cookies to measure how people find and use our site. See Cookies and analytics.

How we use your information

We use your information for enrollment and child care purposes only, including to:

• reply to your questions and call you at the time you asked us to,
• schedule tours and manage our interest list and waitlist,
• enroll your child and plan for their care, including allergies and health needs,
• send you confirmation emails and enrollment updates,
• review job applications,
• keep records required by Delaware child care licensing, and
• understand which pages and ads help families find us.

We do not use your information for unrelated marketing, and we do not sell it.

Who can see your information

Inside our school, your information is only available to our owners and directors. We do not share it outside the school except with the service providers below, who store or process it for us and may only use it to provide their service:

• Brightwheel, our school management system, where we keep inquiries and enrollment records.
• GoDaddy, which hosts our website and the database where form submissions are saved.
• Our email provider, which delivers form notifications and confirmation emails.
• RingCentral, which carries our phone calls, voicemails, and text messages.
• Google (Analytics and Ads). When you join our waitlist, your email and phone number are scrambled (hashed) in your browser and sent to Google so we can measure which ads lead to inquiries. Google cannot read them in plain text.

We may also share information if the law requires it, such as a request from Delaware’s Office of Child Care Licensing, or to protect the safety of a child.

Text messages

• No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
• Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or affiliates.
• Text messages are delivered by RingCentral and may be saved in Brightwheel for enrollment purposes only.
• We prefer not to share personal information over text. Any specific information about your child will be collected in person, over the phone, or through a secure link in our Brightwheel parent portal.
• You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP. Reply HELP for help.

Cookies and analytics

Google Analytics and Google Ads set cookies that tell us things like which pages were visited and whether a visit came from an ad. You can block cookies in your browser settings, turn off ad personalization at adssettings.google.com, or install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. Our site does not currently respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.

Children’s privacy

Our website is for parents, guardians, and job seekers. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. Information about a child comes from their parent or guardian.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiry and waitlist information while we’re working with your family on enrollment. Records for enrolled children are kept as long as Delaware child care licensing requires. If you decide not to enroll, you can ask us to delete your information.

How we protect it

Our website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, and access to form submissions and Brightwheel is limited to our owners and directors. No system is perfectly secure, so please don’t send sensitive details by text or email.

Your choices

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we have about you or your child, or to stop calls, emails, or texts. Call or text (302) 461-7474 or email Savanna@newarknatureschool.org. Some records for enrolled children must be kept to meet licensing rules.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we’ll post the new version here and update the effective date at the top.
