Shue-Medill is a Christina School District middle school serving 6th through 8th grade, on Capitol Trail. Middle schoolers don’t need daycare, but plenty of the families we talk to have one at Shue-Medill and a newborn or toddler at home at the same time.

We’re open 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday, for children 12 weeks through pre-K. Lessons come from the Brightwheel Experience Curriculum with a new nature theme each week, and the kids go outside daily when weather allows.

Our address, 292 W Main St, Newark, DE 19711, is about a 3.6-mile drive from Shue-Medill, mostly along West Cleveland Avenue and DE-2/Capitol Trail. Five classrooms, a license cap of 80 kids, Delaware OCCL ratios.

Not before/after-school care: We’re a standalone program for ages 12 weeks through pre-K, not a wraparound program based at Shue-Medill Middle School. Think of us as the daycare stop for a younger sibling who isn’t in kindergarten yet.
